The Prado spiritual family and the diocese of Lyon invite you to (re)discover the work and the different stages in the life of Mgr Alfred Ancel<\/strong>\u00a0(1898-1984), Auxiliary Bishop of Lyon from 1947 to 1973.<\/p> Lhe year commemorating the\u00a0<\/span>40th<\/span>\u00a0birthday<\/span>\u00a0of the death of Mgr Alfred Ancel<\/strong> which began on 11 September 2024\u00a0<\/span>will be punctuated by a host of events, including an exhibition, conferences, a symposium, retreats and various spiritual events.<\/span><\/p> For more information on the events organised as part of theyear Mgr Alfred Ancel<\/b>Click on the button below.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t The Prado spiritual family is pleased to offer you two meetings to be held at theCatholic University of Lyon<\/b>, UCLy - Carnot Campus<\/strong>\u00a0(23 place Carnot - Lyon 2).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t Please note: registration is compulsory<\/strong>. It generates a QRCode, which is essential for access to the amphitheatre.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t In 1947, Alfred Ancel, born in 1898, came to live in the industrial and working-class Gerland of the post-war period. He wanted to work with his hands and live on the spot to get to know the working class reality of the area. He had come a long way: this middle-class Lyonnais had become a priest, then a young auxiliary bishop under Cardinal Gerlier. He stayed in Gerland for 5 years.
