On December 10, 11, and 12, 2026, don’t miss the musical «ANTOINE LE SAINT DE LA GUILLOTIÈRE» at St. Michel Church (Lyon 7).

An event organized by volunteers centered on the life and message of Antoine Chevrier.
A great idea for an outing with family, friends, or even on your own.

Organized by the parish of Blessed Antoine Chevrier at Saint-Michel Church (45 Avenue Berthelot – Lyon 7), this performance invites the general public to (re)discover Father Antoine Chevrier, a major social and spiritual figure in La Guillotière and Lyon. Through a musical that blends original artistic creation, local participation, and the neighborhood’s living memory, professionals and volunteers of all generations come together to bring his legacy to life and share his message.

Synopsis of the show

Through the anger of Alphonse—a former prisoner outraged by poverty and religion who finds himself confronted by the funeral procession of Father Antoine Chevrier—the play raises a truly contemporary question: How can one believe in God when living amid injustice and poverty?

The answer is not a theoretical one: God did not remain at a distance; He came to dwell in our poverty.

It is embodied in a man who chose to live out the Gospel to the fullest by drawing close to the poorest among us.

The show's script and music were written by Marine Arsac (also known as Cilou), filmmaker and co-founder of Agence CIFRAL – www.agencecifral.com
