The Prado Statues
Chapter 9 of the Constitutions of the Association of Prado Priests addresses the organization and governance of the Institute. In particular, they provide that there shall be « Regional communities established with an Executive Board » (Constitutions, No. 97). Indeed, when a Regional Prado has brought together a sufficient number of committed Prado members, this allows it to have a certain degree of autonomy with regard to training, finances, and, finally, the election of a leader and their council by an assembly. Once these conditions are met, that Prado may apply to the General Council to become an established Prado.
The challenge for a Prado Erected is clearly explained in No. 102: «… it is fully responsible for its members, … it establishes its own particular organization in accordance with the characteristics of its ecclesial tradition, in fidelity to Father Chevrier’s charism and in accordance with the Institute’s own law.».
