"Work not for food that perishes, but for food that endures to eternal life".

Jesus had satisfied five thousand men,
and his disciples had seen him walking on the sea.
The next day, the crowd on the other side of the river
realised that there had only been one boat there,
and that Jesus had not gone up there with his disciples,
who had left without him.
However, other boats, coming from Tiberias,
had arrived near the place where the bread had been eaten
after the Lord had given thanks.
When the crowd saw that Jesus was not there,
nor his disciples,
the people got into the boats
and headed for Capernaum
in search of Jesus.
When they found him on the other side, they said to him:
"Rabbi, when did you get here?"
Jesus answered them:
"Amen, amen, I say to you:
you're looking for me,
not because you've seen the signs,
but because you ate of these loaves
and you've had your fill.
Don't work for food that goes to waste,
but for the food that remains
into eternal life,
that which the Son of Man will give you,
he whom God the Father has sealed".
Then they said to him:
"What should we do
to work in the works of God?
Jesus answered them:
"God's work,
is that you believe in him whom he has sent.
