A moment of grace for the Church in Madagascar and for the whole Prado spiritual family

Saturday 24 May 2025the Mananjary Cathedral, à MadagascarIn the presence of the French delegation, a joyful and fervent welcome was given to the precious relic of Blessed Antoine Chevrier, which had arrived the day before with Bishop José Alfredo Ray Malalabishop of the diocese of Ambositra.

Through this presence at the heart of the cathedral, Blessed Antoine Chevrier himself is coming to meet the Christians of the diocese and the people of Madagascar. This event also reinforces the profound link between the message of Blessed Antoine Chevrier, whose feast day we will be celebrating in the Cathedral, and the life of the Malagasy people. Bicentenary of his birth in 2026 and the mission of the Church.

A Eucharistic celebration and a time of community prayer marked the reception of the relic. The Sisters of Prado, represented by the General Manager for the World, the Regional Delegate for the Diocese of Kara, and the Sisters of Kianjavato and Namorona took part in this important moment, which was an opportunity to rekindle the call to live the Gospel with simplicity, closeness and commitment in the service of the most disadvantaged.

May the presence of the relic of Blessed Antoine Chevrier be an encouragement to all the faithful of Madagascar to live a faith that is incarnate, rooted in everyday reality and open to universal brotherhood.
