To mark the bicentennial of the birth of Blessed Antoine Chevrier (1826–1879), the Spiritual Family of Prado is pleased to offer a limited-edition statuette depicting its founder. An invitation to keep close to your heart the memory of the one who never ceased to show the way of the poor Jesus.
A meaningful work
For many years, members of the Prado Family, friends, and pilgrims had been expressing a desire to have a statuette of Blessed Antoine Chevrier.
On the occasion of this anniversary year, that wish is coming true.
Simple and faithful to the spirit of the Founder, this statuette depicts the poor priest among the poor, holding the Gospel in one hand and the crucifix in the other—symbols of his entire spiritual and missionary life. It invites everyone to contemplate Christ, to deepen their prayer, and to follow in the footsteps of Antoine Chevrier: «Knowing Jesus Christ is everything.»
Whether placed in a home, a chapel, or a welcoming space—or given as a gift to a loved one—it serves as a discreet yet profound reminder of the call to follow the poor Jesus.
An original creation
The creation of this work was entrusted to the François Ramet, a sculptor from Lyon, who skillfully captured, with subtlety and simplicity, the spiritual personality of Blessed Antoine Chevrier, while remaining faithful to the iconographic tradition of Prado.
Made of clear alabaster resin, the statuette measures 23 cm tall and is entirely made in France.
