How can we support the life of the local Church (parish or diocese)?
1. CONTRIBUTE TO THE CHURCH OFFERING.
This term refers to Catholics’ contribution to the financial life of France’s dioceses. The “denier,” or tithe, is a voluntary donation of every baptized person, which also handles the salaries of permanent priests, is tax-deductible. It is up to each diocese to organize this collection. You can visit your diocese’s website.
2. GIVE TO THE COLLECTION during a service or Mass.
This gesture, symbolizing everyone’s daily life and work, demonstrates the participation of the baptized in the life of the community. It enables parishes to cover the fixed portion of their expenses (electricity, heating, and cleaning of the church; purchase of sound equipment or missal books; maintenance and renovation of buildings; insurance; various taxes and fees; etc.).
